shopaholic series by sophie kinsella......

no one is able to enjoy such a feast than the one
one who  knows how to throw a party in his ,her own mind
and  sophe kinsella is one author who definetly  knows how to throw a party......her books are nothing short of a feast  for girls in particular!!!she is witty ,humourousand u will be rolling in floor laughing..she is one of the best chick lit authors i ave read until today.....the series of her books i have read  are....
      confessions of a shopaholic

      shopaholic goes abroad
      shopaholic and the baby
     shopaholic ties knot
        shopaholic and sister.....

i will not be exaggerating if i say that each of her books is mind blowing.....only the flip side is once u start it as the saying goes even wild horses cant drag u away from it:)
the character   rebecca bloomwood is truly a master piece,,,,,,,the more she shops,or the lies she tell or the hare brained scams she lands herself into...the more endearing she becomes to the readers...
iam reminded of enid blyton in a   way  who was my fav author in chidhood....at that time when enid blyton used to talk about ginger ale, dumplings or lamb chops...my mouth used to water even though i never knew wat thy were!!!!!!!similarly in sophie kinsellas books i may never know what a vera wang dress or denny and george scarf looks like...but my mouth watering problem is back with a bang..............
all i can say shopaholic seies of books have truly made me  a readaholic!!!!hats of to you sophie kinsella....you deserve all  the appreciation you get and more.......!!!!!!!!!!!

chicken soup for the readers soul:)

one of my friends presented me friendship book which has a collection of some very nice poems...here iam sharing one wich i happen to like a lot for its simplicity

IF
the sky were my canvas
i would paint it with colours of love
IF
my thoughts were threads of silk
i would weave rich patterns
into my dreams
IF
the sea were my emotions
i would fill the cup
that friendship cradles
IF
the stars wer my ideas
i would light up the
lives of everyone around
IF
the sun was my ally
i wouldspread thewarmth of happiness
o the very end of time
IF
the wind were my wishes
i would spread the fragnance
of kindness in the air
IF
flowers lent their smiles to me
i would wipe last of sorrows trace
IF
the moon gave me its silver shine
i could bring a shimmer

girls on being girly

what is it about us  that makes us rave and rant over gorgeous dresses, shoes and bags and want to spend the entire nite trying them on.??...what is it about us that makes us want to try out exotic coloured nail polish every now and then..??....what is it about us that we can spend entire day shopping/[window included]and gigle nonstop over a goodlooking guy or make funnycracks over his stupid girlfriend....she is stupidbecoz we say so....!!what is it about us that we can chitchat entireday.or talk hours nonstop over phone and then feel very content with  a sense of acheivement:)what is it about us thatwe want to try every gorgeous pastry or every new choclate that hits the market and then fret nonstop over our weight...at least i do!! what is it about us that we feel like  having a party and letting our hair loose every nowand then??in the end what is it  about us that makesus want to stretch lines of boundary that has been set for us....????????
wel if such simple things keeps us happy:) girls have every right to feel girly:)

princess by jean sason

well this was another book i read by chance but has stayed on my mind for along time...
my cousin who had come from dubai had broughtalong wither a book which had acover of muslim girl encased in jewels fully coverd and veiled except for her eyes..i was immediatly intrigued.......
freedom is something which is much talked, written and read about but if u want to true meaning of this word u just have to read this book...
it is areal life story of a  royal family a saudi arabian princess in particular narrated to a journalist....regarding how the men intheir lives...father,brother and husband have them battered and bruised mentally and physically!!when you r reading this book you will experience every emotion  possible from indignation to shock, horror, outrage and finally sadness.....
if u are a feminist this book is defnetly a NONO for chances are that u wil not survive the first 50 pages of the book without succumbing to a panic attack....
i have also read her next book mayada which deals about the life of an innocent muslim women in clutches of  saddam hussain torture jail...but frankly after reading princess...nothing surprises me any more....
